Student/Family Support Team

My name is Guillermo Iglesias and I am originally from Spain. I have been teaching for over 20 years. My instructional responsibilities have included beginning, intermediate and advanced Spanish language courses in the United States (K-12 grades) and English as a Second Language. I also worked as the bilingual coordinator implementing the ELD (English Language Development) Program in my school in Spain. This experience has allowed me to work with students from different backgrounds and interests.  While working in DPS, I have been a 2nd grade ELA E/S teacher, team leader, school leadership- team member, Biliteracy specialist, and Graduate Research Assistant for the Impact Office.

I have a Master’s Degree in English Language and Literature through the University of Oviedo, Spain.  I am certified in early and intermediate literacy Guided Reading through Adams State University.  I completed my Principal license and graduated with EdS (Specialist in Education Degree) in Administrative and Leadership Policies Studies at CU Denver.  I am currently a Doctoral student in Educational Leadership in Equity with the concentration in Urban and Diverse Communities with University of Colorado Denver.  When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, and traveling any time I have a chance. I am so excited to become a part of the Ashley Team/Family, and start serving this great school and diverse community!
