Although originally from North Carolina, I have now lived in Denver for 17 years. Because I married a Colorado native, and have two children, we spend lots of time doing typical “Colorado native” things: camping, hiking, biking, skiing and anything that involves playing outside. I am also a certified Pilates instructor, love all kinds of music, traveling, cooking & dancing!
Before I moved to Denver, I studied Special Education and Spanish at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. I received both a B.S., and a M.Ed. at Vanderbilt, then began teaching in Denver shortly afterward. After spending several years in Denver Public Schools at Godsman Elementary and East High School, I took a break from teaching for several years to stay home with babies and explore other career paths.
Unable to shake my love of teaching and schools, I returned to school and will complete an Intervention Specialist Master’s Degree from University of Northern Colorado in December.
I am thrilled to continue my teaching career at Ashley! I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the students, families and staff in this community.
