The Power of One
I have so many! My very favorites are Mediterranean, Thai, and pizza.
ʺLet us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.ʺ -Marcel ProustʺWe rise by lifting others.ʺ -Robert Ingersoll
My teaching career began in 2007 as a Teach For America teacher in Gallup, NM, teaching on the Navajo reservation. After teaching first grade there for two years I worked as a substitute teacher in elementary and middle school, and worked as a reading interventionist in Beaumont, TX. I moved to Denver in 2011 and immediately loved being a part of DPS. I taught first grade for three years at Cole Arts and Science Academy, and came to Ashley last year to teach third grade. I am so proud to be a part of the Ashley family! I love reading and I hope I can help my students enjoy reading as much as I do! I also look forward to working together with my students to learn more about how to use our iPads to enhance our learning! I think it will be a fun way to share our thinking and learning with one another.
I grew up in Rochester, NY and after high school I majored in History and Political Science at the University of Pittsburgh, and minored in Public Service and African Studies. I love being outside in the sunshine hiking, walking my dog, skiing, practicing yoga, and exploring new things around Colorado. Another favorite pastime is traveling, especially going on road trips and experiencing other cultures. This summer I just finished my goal of visiting all 50 states!
