Maggie Gordon

Hello, my name is Maggie Gordon. This is my first year at Ashley Elementary. I am both honored and excited about working with the amazing staff here at Ashley Elementary. Although this is my first year at Ashley, I have been working in the classroom for three years, and have been working for Denver Public Schools for two.

I received my teaching certification in 2002 from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. While there I had the opportunity to travel to India, Thailand, and Nepal to immerse myself in cultural studies and create a love inside myself for second languages.

I then continued my training in elementary education and completed my English as a second language endorsement from the state of Colorado, through an outreach program that provided me the experience of teaching in Kino Bahio, Mexico. I have longed dreamed of continuing my education to include a Masters in English Language Learners. Currently my goal is to create a classroom that celebrates cultural diversity through the integration and emergence of multi-culturalism. Furthermore, I use the multiple intelligences theory to enrich my classroom learners and create a love for learning in all my students!
