Runaway
Runaway
by Vicente
One day in sunny San Francisco my neighbor got called into work. He was in the FBI. As my neighbor left for work, he left the gate open and he had an adventurous dog! But I was not worried, he never ran away before…until today. He saw the gate open, but he did not run out.
Then he saw the paper boy, and took off. He chased the paper boy down the street then followed a pizza delivery man. He was lost, but he did not know it. Copper was having a good time until he got hungry and started to look for food. As he was looking for food, he noticed the sky was turning black, so he looked for a place to sleep. He found a box and crawled inside. He rested in the box as his eyes got heavy and he drifted away. “Whoo Whoo”, the sounds of a cop’s siren woke him up. As he got up, he felt his stomach growl.
Next, he went and looked for some food again on a busy street. He saw a hotdog stand and some sausages hanging off the counter. Copper ran and grabbed the sausage in his mouth. After that, the clerk saw Copper and he ran after him. Copper lost him at the corner and was gone. He was in an alley eating the rope of sausage.
After he was done, he ran into the street and “ERERERERT”! A car swerved off the road and stopped. Suddenly, Copper noticed it was his owner. Then Copper took off like a cheetah as his owner was putting his car in the garage.
Copper ran into his doghouse. The owner saw the open gate and yelled, “Copper! Copper! Come here boy.” Then Copper came running and jumped into his arms. Copper’s owner said, “Good boy! You did not run away.” Copper’s owner never knew that Copper ran away and he never will.
